In the foothills below Volcán Turrialba, small farms and remnant forest quilt the green, rolling country of the Caribbean slope. Fog rolls up the valleys in the afternoon and softens every hill into layers of jade. It is an intimate, gentle landscape — fitting for this smaller study kept in its hoop.
